Scenario Architecture has designed a roof extension for their client who purchased a unit in a 1990s live-work complex in London, England.
A sculptural staircase leads from the two-bedroom ground level flat up to the two-story roof extension.
The stairs open up to the main social areas of the house.
A bookcase that follows the line of the ceiling makes use of an otherwise plain white wall, while a couch helps to create a living room in the open space.
Opposite the living room is the open plan dining area that’s adjacent to a u-shaped kitchen. Custom-built wood cabinets have been built into the wall.
Additional stairs lead from the living areas of the home up to a rooftop deck, that enjoys views of the neighborhood.
