Indirect Lighting Is An Excellent Way To Create A Calm Atmosphere

Indirect lighting, also known as hidden lighting, is one of the best ways to create a calming atmosphere in an interior. Vermilion Zhou Design Group used this technique when they designed the interior of Green Massage, a wellness provider in Shanghai, China.

In the hallways leading to the treatment rooms, indirect lighting is included at the top of the wall where it meets the ceiling, as well as the bottom, where the light reflects off the floor, creating a pleasing ambient glow.

There are also wall sconces that have the light directed towards the wall.

In the treatment rooms, cool greys and wood continue to add to the calming environment, which also includes a backlit mirror.
